Drowning In Wine Near The Waters Of Elsinore is a description of what it's like to live on the other side of the California Ortega's in a curious little town called Lake Elsinore. This factual collection of writing reads as a sobering truth that in a town like Elsinore, loneliness and companionship can exist simultaneously, emotional depravity and financial woe go hand-in-hand, dead-end jobs lead to social sexscapades, and seeing how many bad poems it takes to get drunk is apparently a thing. These unique scenarios and more are what drives Francis to write with a perception that can only be described in his own words: "Save me from this place, this awful place, this vagabond's delight, the Elsinorean trite.
