200 Feet On Eureka Street is Francis Rourke’s follow up to Drowning In Wine Near the Waters of Elsinore (2017). A curated selection of poems, short stories, and poetic commentary taken from a hand-typed 200 foot scroll written on a little suburban street in Lake Elsinore, California. In this yearlong endeavor he brings the reader with him through the experience of process in prose as he thought and fought his way through writer’s blocks and personal breakthroughs; falling victim and victor to the spiritual and physical laws of isolation and depravity that is the set and setting to Lake Elsinore’s landscape. An intimate companion to Drowning In Wine, this work captures the process of a writer finding his voice.
